In July 2009 Paola, her husband and two boys went to Colombia to visit. On her return she purchased three purses that later on became CordoBags signature purse. The Miranda Ring. One was for herself, one for Alexandra and the other one was for their younger sister Tatiana. For over two months they received continuous compliments on their purses. They were getting stopped everywhere they went. Then, Paola, Alexandra and their sister in-law Sandra, began to talk about their dream. Fashion, designing, helping and connecting back with their mother land Colombia. Everything fit together perfectly and in November 2009 Paola flew to Colombia with her brother, Mauricio. This is when they searched for the tribe and the artisans and established the direct working relationship that has continued to grow.
CordoBags is dedicated to importing fashionable, one of a kind purses and accessories. We are able to appreciate the process in which our pieces are made. This experience has shown us the tribes' devotion to mother earth that gives them the substance to live and the opportunity to preserve their culture.
Our mission is to aid the tribes and artisans that are working with us. Through our efforts CordoBags is currently helping support about 19 families in Colombia. We also have a responsability to our clients and that is to sell a product of sophistication, style and atmost quality while preserving the authenticity of the Zenu and Wayuu tradition and the heritage of the artisans.
